Quick Start Guide

Log your first emails, confirm deliverability, and resend failures in minutes.

Before you begin

• Mailtric installed and activated (see Installation).
• Admin access to WordPress.
• Optional: SMTP credentials if you prefer sending through a provider.

Step 1: Confirm logging is on

1. Go to Mailtric → Settings → Logging.
2. Ensure Enable Logging is turned on.
3. Decide whether to store Successful Emails, Failed Emails, and full content/headers.
4. Save changes.

Step 2: Send a test email

1. Open Mailtric → Email Test.
2. Enter an address you can check.
3. Send the test and wait a few seconds.
4. Open Mailtric → Email Logs and confirm the entry appears with a status (e.g., Sent, Failed).

Step 3: Verify deliverability

• Run an SMTP Test (Mailtric → SMTP Test) to check host, port, authentication, and encryption.
• Run a Deliverability Check to see SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX, and blacklist results for your domain.
• If anything fails, update DNS or SMTP credentials, then rerun the tests.

Step 4: Resend a failed email

1. In Email Logs, locate a failed/bounced email.
2. Click Resend to retry immediately.
3. Confirm the resend shows in the log with an updated status.

Optional: Enable retention and access controls

• Turn on Data Retention to automatically clean old logs and set a maximum number of entries.
• Under Security & Roles, require authentication and select which WordPress roles can access Mailtric.
