Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about Mailtric, logging, and deliverability.
What emails does Mailtric log?
Mailtric logs emails sent via WordPress wp_mail(). That typically includes:
- Core WordPress notifications (password resets, new user emails, etc.).
- Contact form emails from popular form plugins.
- WooCommerce and other transactional e-commerce emails.
- Membership, LMS, booking, and community plugin emails that rely on
wp_mail().
Does Mailtric improve deliverability by itself?
Mailtric is focused on visibility. It monitors sending, failures, and bounce signals, and gives you tools to test SMTP and domain health. Pair it with a reliable SMTP or transactional email provider (SendGrid, Mailgun, SES, etc.) for best results.
Can I resend emails?
Yes. You can resend failed or bounced emails directly from the Email Log. This is ideal for important messages like password resets, order confirmations, and account activations that need to be retried quickly.
Will Mailtric slow down my site?
Mailtric is designed to be efficient and use optimized queries. Enable Data Retention to automatically clean old logs on high-volume sites.
Does Mailtric replace my SMTP plugin?
Mailtric includes SMTP configuration (host, port, authentication, encryption, From Email/Name) plus SMTP and deliverability tests. If you already use another SMTP plugin or transactional provider, Mailtric will work alongside it and add logging and analytics.
Is anything locked behind a paid plan?
No. All Mailtric features—logging, resend, analytics, SMTP settings, deliverability checks, exports/imports, and database tools—are free.
What should I check first if emails are missing?
- Confirm the email is sent through
wp_mail()and that logging is enabled. - Run Email Test and SMTP Test to verify sending and authentication.
- Use Deliverability Check to validate SPF, DKIM, and DMARC for your domain.
- Review filters in the Email Log to ensure the message isn’t hidden by a status or date filter.
